Hand-drawn from scratch and painted entirely in oil, this is the most classical form of portraiture we offer. Rich in gesture and depth, these heirloom pieces are ideal for commemorating legacy moments.

🖌️ How the Custom Oil Painting Commission Process Works

  1. Step 1: Consultation
    Each of our fine art commissions follows a collaborative process to ensure the result is as meaningful as the intent behind it. We start with a conversation — in our studio, or by phone if necessary if you aren’t nearby — to discuss your vision, setting, mood, and desired size.
  2. Step 2: Photography Session or Reference Review
    For portraits, we schedule a photo session in our studio or review any reference images you already have. This is where the real preliminary design begins to take place.
  3. Step 3: Design & Approval
    You’ll see a concept sketch or layout before painting begins, so you’re involved in shaping the final result and are confident in the direction the painting will take.
  4. Step 4: Painting
    Whether oil on canvas or oil-enhanced, the painting process typically takes 6-10 weeks depending on complexity.
  5. Step 5: Delivery & Framing
    Completed paintings are professionally framed (if applicable) and ready for pickup or shipping.
